Cat Sterilisation Society – making a difference-we have funded sterilisation of over 50,000 cats
We believe sterilisation also known as spaying, neutering and de-sexing is positive animal welfare. It is the key method of preventing over supply of cats and kittens exceeding annual demand of kittens and cats.
We have spent 22 years promoting sterilisation in preference to euthanasia as the only way long term to control the numbers of unwanted cats. In recent years other animal welfare groups have come to realise and understand that to effectively reduce numbers of cats, prevention of the breeding cycle by sterilising cats at 5 months is essential

We cannot do this vital work of subsidised cat sterilisation and education if we do not receive donations from the public. The time we spend fundraising lessens the time we have to organise cat sterilisation programmes. Please donate generously.
Uncontrolled or “free range breeding” by owned cats results in an over supply of kittens.
This leads to the abandonment of hundreds of unsterilised cats at industrial sites, over- crowded refuges and kittens easily available to unsuitable owers.
Read the stories on the latest industrial site rescues for cats who are ready for rehoming.
We have concerns the Western Australian State Government Cat Act 2012 will not result in all cats being sterilised but simply place more financial impost, restrictions and controls on already responsible owners, by over zealous Councils.
